Description

Eu estava vendo o documentário In the Realms of the Unreal, a biografia do artista Henry Darger, quando vi esta imagem:

"o que Klara está fazendo aqui???" XDD
Então me senti obrigado a fazer essa arte :D

I was watching the documentary "In the Realms of the Unreal", a biography of the artist Henry Darger, when I saw this:

"Klara, what are you doing here?? " XDD
So I felt compelled to make this art :D

I heard of Henry Darger reading the book "Making Comics" by Scott McLoud. In a footnote, he points this author as an example of the dangers of creating a lot of background information on their own characters that nobody will read. Darger was a loner who during his lifetime wrote and illustrated their own stories, but was only discovered on the eve of his death: among other things, he wrote a book of 15,145 pages (!), with hundreds of illustrations, about a war on between two imaginary countries and mainly about their heroines, the seven Vivian sisters.
I identified myself with the author and I think many authors identify with Darger: he was someone lost in creating their own worlds, without people around to care about it, learning to draw to give more life to your own world (Darger's drawings and collages were scratched upon photographs or drawings of others) and such. The difference is he was an extreme case, very extreme.

To end this wall of text, I did the illustration in photoshop, improvised a bic pen color to circumvent Klara and edited the colors to look like pencil painting. In the background, one of my older comics that survived, a tribute to the spirit of the stories that nobody will read and improvisation of a beginner artist =)

PS: For those who've read about the Vivian Girls and come ask me, Klara is anatomically correct!! ò_o
